Glen Gariff Healthcare Center
Pratt Pavilion, Glen Cove, New York

The Pratt Pavilion is a state of the art short-term rehabilitation facility. Along with the expertise provided by therapists and physicians, the center’s relaxing, spa-like environment that we designed offers patients an attractive and comfortable refuge to facilitate healing and enhance their sense of wellbeing. HMD is responsible for the redesign of the entire Pratt Mansion, expected to be completed by the spring of 2011.

Workmen's Circle
Multi-Care Center, Bronx, New York

The design of this multi-care center in the Bronx was intended to create the comfort and atmosphere of a hotel suite rather than a nursing home facility. Patients and their family members can spend quality time together in this beautiful, non-institutional environment. In addition to a private family lounge we have also created a private dining suite that is ideal for families to celebrate special occasions or to enjoy a lovely, relaxing meal together. In the larger dining room we have recreated the ambiance of an elegant outdoor dining experience by the use of a 12'-0" x 9'-0" high light box with an exquisite Spring-time image.

Bushwick Center For Care
Brooklyn, New York

In 2008, the owners of Bushwick Center retained HMD Healthcare Design for the challenge of updating two early 1900s buildings, which at the time were housing chronic care nursing home residents. These facilities are now bright, cheerful, and welcoming. They include a rehabilitation wing, dialysis unit, and nursing home/Alzheimer’s care floors. The previously dark, dismal basement before construction is now a bright, open O.T. / P.T. area, a well-lit colorful corridor, and a vivid dining room.

Port Jefferson Healthcare Center
Port Jefferson, New York

The Port Jefferson nursing home facility had not had any updating or refreshing since the 1980s. When the Ahuja family recently purchased it, they were determined to create a beautiful five star nursing home and rehabilitation center. HMD Interior Design created a clean space with bright colors and uplifting art work which helped transform the lobby and corridors into a pleasant residence.

TownHouse Center For Nursing and Rehabilitation
Extended Care Center, Hempstead, New York

The goal of our HMD Interior Design team was to create a peaceful and pleasant Hospice unit that caters to patients and their families who are dealing with this most difficult and challenging period in their lives. Modern patient rooms as well as a fully equipped family room where visitors can eat, sleep, watch television or work on a computer are geared to providing a relaxing environment that is sensitive to the needs of the family as well as the patient.

Queens Center For Rehabilitation
Bistro, O.T./P.T., Patient Rooms & Lounge, Whitestone, New York

HMD Interior Design was commissioned to work on the O.T./P.T area (one of the finest in the city), patient rooms, bistro and corridor, as well as a comfortable and modern family lounge. The bistro we created, where a patient and visitors can select from a gourmet menu, competes in selection and quality with any bistro in the metropolitan New York Area. In this uplifting and cheerful atmosphere, where the tables are always adorned with floral centerpieces, it’s easy to forget that you’re in a nursing home facility.

Nassau Extended Care Center
Extended Care Center, Hempstead, New York

HMD Interior Design created a spacious, attractive and welcoming lobby for the Nassau Extended Care Center. Designed with the knowledge that many patients and their families utilize the lobby simultaneously, separate seating areas were developed which offer visitors their own private space for intimate gatherings.

Bronx Dialysis Center
Bronx, New York

The Bronx Dialysis Center presented HMD Interior Design with a very exciting design challenge since the space was located at basement level with low ceilings and no windows. Mindful that patients who spend hours undergoing dialysis treatments must maintain a positive mental state, our team succeeded in creating an appealing facility that was bright and airy through our creative use of color and form.

Boro Park Center For Rehabilitation
Brooklyn, New York

Our team is very excited to be at the beginning stages of the redesign of this facility. Formerly part of the Metropolitan Jewish Health System, we are creating an environment that caters to several different religious and ethnic groups. HMD Interior Design is in the process of designing the project using color and materials to create an environment where families and patients can be made to feel at home and comfortable.
